Announcing TeleCare: Asynchronous Medical Visits at Twisted Roots Health 


We are committed to expanding access to timely, high‑quality care for our community. Our new TeleCare service allows patients to receive evaluation and treatment for select conditions through a secure online form — no appointment required. 


After you submit your symptoms, medical history, and any photos, a Twisted Roots provider will review your case and determine the safest and most effective plan. When appropriate, prescriptions will be sent to your preferred pharmacy. 


Self-Pay TeleCare Eligibility


Self-pay TeleCare is not available to patients who are enrolled in Medicare, Medicare Advantage, TennCare, Medicaid, or dual Medicare/Medicaid coverage. Before using TeleCare, patients must confirm their insurance status. If a patient has Medicare, Medicare Advantage, TennCare, Medicaid, dual coverage, or is unsure of their coverage, they should not continue with self-pay TeleCare and should contact the office for scheduling assistance.


Twisted Roots Health will review insurance eligibility before processing a TeleCare request. If we determine that a patient is enrolled in Medicare, Medicare Advantage, TennCare, Medicaid, or another plan that may cover the requested service, we will cancel the TeleCare request, issue a refund, and redirect the patient to a covered visit option.

TeleCare Requirements

 

TeleCare visits after 8 p.m. should expect to be addressed the next day. 


Patient location requirement: All patients must be physically located in Tennessee at the time of the telehealth visit. Location verification is required.


Patient Insurance Requirement: Patients must comply with the eligibility requirements regarding insurance through Medicare, Medicare Advantage, TennCare, Medicaid, or dual Medicare/Medicaid coverage. Enrollment in these plans forbids any patient from using this service.


Clinical limitations:   Telehealth visits follow the same Tennessee standard of care as in‑person care. Prescribing is never guaranteed for any medication that is not clinically appropriate based on the information provided. Controlled drugs are prohibited. 


Payment policy:   Payment is required before form submission and is non‑refundable once the clinical review has begun, regardless of visit outcome or prescribing decisions.


Emergency & exclusion criteria:   TeleCare is not for medical emergencies. Patients experiencing chest pain, shortness of breath, severe abdominal pain, stroke symptoms, or any other emergency condition must call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.


Technology & privacy:   All visits are conducted through a HIPAA‑compliant telehealth platform. Patients are responsible for ensuring a private, safe environment for their visit.
